Umami Burger

            If I could have one superpower, it would be to teleport Umami Burgers to myself. I can’t even describe how perfect and amazing they are. It’s kind of unbelievable.

            I sat there tonight with my beautiful burger, trying to decide if it was the Portuguese style milk and honey bun, toasted to crisp, chewy perfection, or the patty made from freshly ground beef and cooked so wonderfully it melts in your mouth that makes the Umami Burger so outstanding. It doesn’t matter which aspect makes it so delectable; Umami Burger is hands down the best burger I have ever had in my life.

            Based on the lines stretching to the corner after only three days of the new location being open (Umami Burger is from California), I think it’s safe to say that the rest of NYC agrees. It’s the kind of place that I would want to go to for every occasion, whether it’s after a party, after a run, or just plain in the middle of the day. I hate lines, as do most people, but this one is absolutely, positively worth the wait.

            The menu is awesome, with great options for beef and non-beef burgers (including the Truffle burger, the Tuna burger and the Manly burger), irresistible fried sides, and some salads that make perfect appetizers, like the pickle plate and the kale Caesar salad. Everything looks delicious and everything I tried was delicious, but I have to say, if you go to Umami Burger (and I urge you to go to there), you should order some sort of burger (in addition to all of the other stuff), because it is something so spectacular you will explode. Okay not explode, but I can’t think of a word to explain how yummy these hamburgers are.
