Up next in the unintended series of brunch places in Chelsea is Cookshop, home of gingerbread pancakes, beautiful holiday decorations, and an incredible roasted chicken breast on top of kale salad with cranberries, apples and walnuts (and I don't even like kale). 

            The wait for Sunday brunch exists (as it does everywhere), however it wasn't heinous. In fact, it was kind of short. The entire restaurant right now is decorated with little Christmas trees, poinsettias, and mirrored glass ornaments, yet it isn't cluttered, just very cozy (to use a childish, but accurate word).

            I went with my mom after doing some holiday shopping (brunch and shopping—I know, so creative etc.) and we sat at one of the tall tables in the front. It was full and had a good atmosphere and our waiter was very friendly despite the crowd.

            As I said, I’m not one who seeks out kale on a menu, however, the person who was sitting next to us ordered this chicken and kale salad with pesto, cranberries, walnuts and apples that looked so good my mom and I both got it (once again, very creative).

            It was so good. I’ve been craving it ever since. The roasted chicken was crispy on the outside and not a bit dry all the way through. And the kale even tasted good with the combination of dressing and walnuts with cranberries.

            I also really want to go back to get the gingerbread pancakes before they take them off of the menu—the holiday season is fleeting! I will keep this short since it is Christmas Eve and I am being antisocial with my family.
