Bakers & Roasters is the brunch restaurant we’ve all been waiting for. I might need to move to Amsterdam only to eat there all the time—just kidding that’s ridiculous, but I wish I had been there long enough to go every day and try everything on the menu!
The first thing you see when you walk in is the daily selection of homemade cakes and pastries. An entire counter full of them, all baked fresh that morning. Everything from an iced banana cake to sea salt chocolate chip cookies to lemon poppy seed muffins. YUM.
The restaurant is cozy and bright—a perfect brunch ambiance. There is a skylight in the back and are little jars with flowers in the middle of each table. The menu is blue and there are cappuccinos coming out of the kitchen in adorable cups with pretty foam designs.
I had the Navajo eggs: two poached eggs with pulled pork, chipotle cream, mango salsa, avocado and hot buttered toast. It was perfect (although in all honesty I could have eaten an entire meal of just the toast—doughy in the middle with a crackly crust and slathered with melted butter as promised).
It was almost impossible to decide what to get. There was not a thing coming out of the kitchen that didn’t seem completely and insanely delicious. Three cheers for Bakers & Roasters!
